WATER TEMPERATURE AND CLARITY:
We were forced to move camp down river about 250 yards this year due to high water. The river is still high and water temperatures have been 46 to 48 degrees. The clarity is good with four to five of visibility.
WEATHER CONDITIONS:
It has been drizzly and cold since we got here on June 8th. We have had a lot of cloudy days with an occasional drizzle but not enough rain to adversely effect the river or fishing. What we haven’t had is any sunny warm days.
HOT FLY OF THE WEEK:
The Hoodrat and Dolly Llamas
HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK:
Lots of big Arctic Grayling this week as well as Trout. Even with the high water we were able to do well on the mouse patterns.
WILDLIFE SPOTTED:
We have been seeing a lot of Moose this year. It seems like someone sees a moose everyday now.
COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK:
This was a great group of guys to start the 2023 season. The week started a little slow and each day the fishing got better and better. Kings, Chums, and Sockeye Salmon are just starting to show in the upper river.
