WATER TEMPERATURE AND CLARITY:
Water temps this week started in the low 50s and rose to 56 degrees by the end of the week. The water is very clear which makes spotting Rainbows great, however the lower river below tundra bank is still murky.
WEATHER CONDITIONS:
This week the weather was very warm, averaging about 65 degrees with a lot of partly cloudy days and a few short-lived sprinkles of rain.
HOT FLY OF THE WEEK:
Anything pink for Silvers and Humpies. The flesh, bead, and the mouse over salmon beds for Rainbows and Dollies.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK:
We had an incredible group of guests this week that all got along well and our stomachs hurt from all of the laughs. It was an extremely fun week with some amazing people.
WILDLIFE SPOTTED:
Beaver, Osprey, Mink, Eagles and an unidentified big brown furry animal running into the trees. (probably a moose or bear)
COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK:
To start the week, we hit the Silvers hard, having to jump around to stay in fresh water but also having the great filler of Humpies on almost every cast in the salmon holes. Later in the week the Silvers really started showing up in numbers. All week the trout and Dolly fishing was incredible. We have started seeing big fully spawning colored Dollies now and the trout are very happy and willing to bite with the spawning salmon and rising water temps. About mid-week we started seeing some smaller Dollies showing up so the river is chocked full of very willing fish. The river is right where we want it and there are plenty of fish of all species. Lots of fun to be had!
