UPPER BASE CAMP FISHING REPORT

REPORTING FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 18th to 25th, 2022

WATER TEMP AND CLARITY

The river was medium-high when we got here on June 2nd . The weather has been great and the river has done nothing but drop and get clearer daily. We averaged 48 to 51 degree water temps and the river is clear.

WEATHER CONDITIONS

WOW!! What a great week of sunny weather!! We did a lot of swimming this week with sunny weather and temps in the 70s!! The swimming was brief as the water is still a little chilly.

Anything we threw in the water worked this week.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK

Is was great to share the first week with a group of long time guests/friends. We had a lot of laughs and the trout fishing was epic!

WILDLIFE SPOTTED

No bear this week but we are seeing lots of tracks from Bear, Wolves, Moose and Caribou. Lots of birds along the river including Bald Eagles, Mallards, Pintail, Wigeon, Green wing Teal, Canadian Geese, Tundra Swans, Mergansers, Common Loons, Sandhill
Cranes, Arctic Terns, Long tail Jaegers, Glaucous winged Gulls, Bald Eagles, Ruffed Legged Hawks, Kestrels, Harlequin ducks, Osprey, Peregrine falcons, Golden crowned Sparrows, Swallows, Common snipe, Greater yellow leg, Ptarmigan, Ravens, and Crows.

COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK

Another great week with guests that have fished with us for years! The trout fishing is off the hook and the river is filling up with salmon.
