UPPER BASE CAMP FISHING REPORT
REPORTING FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 13 TO JULY 20
WATER TEMP AND CLARITY
The river is low and Gin clear and the water temp has been in the low fifties. The low
water really concentrates the fish!!
WEATHER CONDITIONS
Another great week of weather. It was much cooler this week with a lot of partially
cloudy days with temps in the fifties and sixties and almost no rain.
HOT FLY OF THE WEEK
The mouse is still working great and all of the normal wet flies.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK
On Saturday after our new group of guests got to camp we had a bear with two cubs
eating berries on the other side of the river. Then we had two Arctic Lynx come right up
to our tents and they acted like they had not seen people before. We eventually decided
to chase them off and they took their sweet time about leaving and seemed unconcerned
about us. I have only seen a few Lynx in all my years on the river so it was very cool to
check them out up close.
