UPPER BASE CAMP FISHING REPORT

REPORTING FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 07 TO AUGUST 14, 2021

WATER TEMP AND CLARITY
The river chilled up a little and is now at fifty degrees and gin clear.

WEATHER CONDITIONS
This week was a little colder and mostly overcast. A couple of drizzly days but no serious rain.

The incredible edible egg in all variations.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK
This group has been fishing the same week at the Upper Camp for over fifteen years We have had a lot of fun over the years and now some of the group are in their 80s and are simply getting to old to fish Alaska. We caught some great fish and had some bitter sweet moments. Knowing that this could be their last big fishing trip made every day that much more special.

WILDLIFE SPOTTED
We are still seeing bears almost daily. Many birds along the river including Bald Eagles, Mallards, Pintail, Wigeon, Green wing Teal, Canadian Geese, Tundra Swans, Mergansers, Common Loons, Sandhill Cranes, Arctic Terns, Long tail Jaegers, Glaucous winged Gulls, Bald Eagles, Ruffed Legged Hawks, Kestrels, Harlequin ducks, Osprey, Peregrine falcons, Golden crowned Sparrows, Swallows, Common snipe, Greater yellow leg, Ptarmigan, Ravens, and Crows.
