WATER TEMPERATURE AND CLARITY:

Water temps are holding in low to mid 50s. Clarity is great visibility is ~6ft, even more on the sunnier days.

WEATHER CONDITIONS.

Weather has been cooling off a bit this week, particularly in the mornings and warming up in the afternoons. We also had a couple rainy days which made for a great salmon bite.

HOT FLY OF THE WEEK:

Intruders have been the meal ticket for the King and Chum Salmon while the mouse is still great for Rainbows.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK:

One of our guests who came all the way from the Netherlands hooked two back-to-back massive Kings on spey just below camp.

WILDLIFE SPOTTED:

Our guides have spotted several Bears and Moose this week. Notable bird sightings include surf scoters, yellow and yellow-rumped warblers, greater yellowlegs, and immature bald eagles. There’s also a resident snowshoe hare in camp that’s making nightly visits to the sleep tent area.

COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK:

The Trout bite has been excellent and the salmon are coming in with gusto. It’s proving to be a much better Chum year compared to last season and the Dollies are in hot pursuit. The Sockeye are also pouring in heavily and some holes are just black with them while they stage for their next push upriver.
