Hot fly of the week goes to the Mouse!
HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK:
Blaine and son, Jack, from SC both caught their first large King and Rainbow on a mouse on their very first day of fishing. A great first taste of the magic of the Kanektok!
WILDLIFE SPOTTED:
The gravel bars are covered in gulls, jaegers, and various other shorebirds. Only one Bear seen this week.
COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK:
The river is coming to life more and more every day. The Sockeye, Chum, Kings, Humpies and Dollies are steadily filtering in and the bite is hot. The trout bite is slower than what we’re used to but they are into the mouse and we are here for it. Lots of Grayling are still around for those who are willing to fish a dry fly on a lighter weight rod.
