REPORTING FOR THE WEEK OF July 30th to August 6th, 2022
WATER TEMPERATURE AND CLARITY:
Water levels and temps have been fluctuating with periodical rains. Water is currently low 50s and somewhat turbid.
WEATHER CONDITIONS:
Weather this week started with cloudy days in the low/mid 50s with a sunny Wednesday, which gave way to a windy and rainy end of the week.
HOT FLY OF THE WEEK:
The G-string was putting in work on the Chum and Humpies this week.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK:
Seasoned Duncan guests, Paul and KC, along with guide, Jake, caught an eleven-pound Rainbow in the lower river on their last day in camp. Way to end it on a high note!
QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
“If I had died and was given a choice to go to Heaven or Lower Base Camp, I would have taken LBC” – Steve Heinz
WILDLIFE SPOTTED:
Some bear, beaver, and mink have made frequent appearance along the river banks. In the air, we’ve seen an increased number of bald eagles, osprey, sandhill cranes, white- fronted geese, and various ducks.
COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK:
The Chum bite is beginning to slow as we shift into Silver season, which have been showing themselves more and more every day. Rainbows are still spread out but are being caught on everything from the mouse and bead to the Dali Lama and other streamer
patterns.
