LOWER BASE CAMP FISHING REPORT

REPORTING FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 24th TO JULY 3st, 2021

WATER TEMPERATURE AND CLARITY:
Water temp has held steady in the mid-50s. Around our camp we have about 4 feet of visibility.

WEATHER CONDITIONS:
The week began with a couple of warm sunny days. On Tuesday the weather rolled in. It’s been windy and rainy, but it hasn’t rained hard enough to affect the river.

HOT FLY OF THE WEEK:
3-Chainz- White Rabbit, Gold Flash. Tied by longtime LBC guest John Carey

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK:
The highlight of this week was the arrival of the Dollies, our shore lunches, and as always, our Guests on family week.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
Experience of a lifetime Exceeded all expectations. Immediately feel like your part of the Duncan family. Jim Cavanaugh Andover, MA.

WILDLIFE SPOTTED:
It was a good week for unusual wildlife. A couple of our guests were lucky enough to spot a lynx crossing the river! Additionally, two different Bears was seen across from camp.

COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK:
This week things started happening on the river. The Chums are beginning to dig beds and in turn the rainbows are moving off of the banks to the insides. The mouse and smaller streamers fished off of shelves, behind beds, and in front structure produced good numbers of fish. We aren’t quite in full on bead mode but we will be shortly. The Dollies have finally showed up in decent numbers. Their return is very welcome and we took advantage and had two shore lunches. As for the Salmon fishing some silvers have been caught! Every day we are seeing more of them. With the spawn just starting to kick off and Chrome silvers arriving it’s a great time to be on the river.
