This week we saw more bears than we have seen all season. The fish are spawning and the bears know it. Multiple were seen every day on the water.
COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK:
This week was a lot like last week only with more Silvers. The Trout and Dollies are fully keyed in on the bead. On just about every bar in the upper river, Kings, Chums, and Humpies are doing their thing- spawning. Behind the beds, it’s a big competition to see who can get to the stray eggs. Most of the time you have to get through a couple of smaller quick Dollies to get to the big rainbow or the colored Dollie but that’s a pretty good problem to have. This is the time of year where we get to see some of our biggest trout and our guests this week were up for the challenge. As for the Silver fishing, they are now in most of the sloughs and slack waters. The river level hasn’t had a big bump but more silvers are continuing to show up. The darker days and mornings were better and in some of the better spots we are starting to catch them on top! With a great group of long-time guests and a couple of first timers who we will likely see again, it was a great week on the river.
