Ady and Sam with a nice Silver and Chum Salmon!

LOWER BASE CAMP FISHING REPORT

REPORTING FOR THE WEEK OF August 6th to August 13th, 2022

WATER TEMPERATURE AND CLARITY:

Water has been around 51 and on the high side due to the heavy rains early in the week. But the water is dropping and clearing by the day.

WEATHER CONDITIONS:

This week started with heavy rain and wind for about 24hrs, but gave way to consecutive sunny and clear days followed by progressively cloudier days to finish the week.

HOT FLY OF THE WEEK:

Robb’s Stinky Pink was great for all the salmons but also did work on Grayling, Dollies, and Rainbows.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK:

Fathers, Mothers and Grandpa bringing their daughters, sons, son in laws and grandkids fishing. How do you beat this week?

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

“Fantastic salmon fishing on the fly rod! Great camp accommodations. Large and numerous fish” – Steve Bennetts

WILDLIFE SPOTTED:

Some bear, beaver, and mink have made frequent appearance along the river banks. In the air, we’ve seen an increased number of bald eagles, osprey, sandhill cranes, white- fronted geese, and various ducks.

COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK:

High and turbid water made for tougher conditions this week but the Silver and Chum bite was strong nonetheless and many fish were caught by all. Rainbows have been more difficult to target but they can still be caught on the beads and streamers.
