John Surek with a beautiful Dolly.

WATER TEMPERATURE AND CLARITY:

Water temps were hanging in the low to mid 50F this week. Clarity was approx. 4ft at the start of the week but a few rainy days upriver dropped it to around 2-3ft by the end of the week.

WEATHER CONDITIONS:

Yet again, we have had all four seasons in throughout the week. The week started out windy, wet, and cold and shifted to two beautiful sunny days at the end of the week.

HOT FLY OF THE WEEK:

The Pink Popper hammered the silvers all week where the bead was the best pattern for the dollies and rainbows.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK:

Daryl of Orange County, CA caught 80 silvers in a day of “casual” angling. John Surek also caught a stud Dollie in a side channel.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

Heck of an end to another awesome season on the incredible Kanektok!

WILDLIFE SPOTTED:

We’ve seen eagles, lots of migrating speckle bellied and cackling geese, mink, beaver, and even a few bear this week.

COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK:

It’s been a great, fishy week and couldn’t have rounded out the season better! Here’s to another awesome season on the amazing Kanektok River!
