Darin Webb with a beautiful Dollie!

LOWER BASE CAMP FISHING REPORT

REPORTING FOR THE WEEK OF August 13th to August 20th, 2022

WATER TEMPERATURE AND CLARITY:

Water temps have been holding in the mid 50s and clarity is around 6ft.

WEATHER CONDITIONS:

Weather has been fairly rainy and cloudy the majority of the week with the sun peaking out sporadically but not for very long.

HOT FLY OF THE WEEK:

Pink intruder patterns are still the go-to for Silvers and the Chums, whereas the bead has been working well for Rainbows and Dollies.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK:

The Arkansas Boys are back! They even had multiple doubles, triples, and even quadruples while fishing chrome silvers together. It’s been a great week with this crew!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

“I have never caught as many fish or the size of fish in my entire life!! The camp, the fishing, the beautiful scenery all very much exceeded my expectations. This trip is a must for any and all fly fishermen.”- Chase Wingfield

WILDLIFE SPOTTED:

This week we were treated to the spectacle of three bears (mom and cubs) right across the river from camp one morning. Lots of migrating water fowl, bald and golden eagles, and lots merganser have been sighted this week.

COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK:

The Silvers and Chums are still filtering in and there has been some good spawning activity among the Chum, Kings, Humpies and Sockeye which is getting the Rainbows, Dollies and Grayling fired up. We expect the already exceptional fishing to only get better into the upcoming week.
