LOWER BASE CAMP FISHING REPORT WEEK OF AUGUST 2nd to 9th, 2025

WATER TEMPERATURE AND CLARITY:

Clear water with temps in the low 50s.

WEATHER CONDITIONS:

Mixed bag weather wise. A handful of nice sunny days, a couple days with wind and rain.

HOT FLY OF THE WEEK:

Pink and purple streamers, Jig style flies, and clousers for the silvers. We’re catching most of our trout on beads, flesh flies, and mice.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK:

This week was a great week to time up the spawn. Lots of rainbows were caught behind spawning kings and chums. The Spawn is on!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:

“Duncan and Sons is the number one destination in the USA for a fishing adventure; I can’t stop returning” -Sandy Potterton

COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK:

Wow what another great week! The Silver fishing this year has been epic and fish have continued to pour into the river since late July. This week we started fishing a lot of topwater for the silvers. There isn’t a whole lot that beats watching 8-12lb chrome Silvers fight over a pink popper. When the topwater bite starts to slow up the fish are always happy to eat a stripped streamer. In the evenings we did lots of Trout and Dollie fishing. The Trout have really started to move out behind the King beds and they are on the bite. We caught more big Trout this week than any other week this season and were hoping to keep that trend rolling. With chrome Silvers pouring into the river and trout still eating the mouse, it’s a great time of year to be on The Chosen.
