Best Weather of the season! 3 warm overcast days followed by sun and temps in the high 70s. Guides swam at lunch and wet waded in the afternoon.

HOT FLY OF THE WEEK:

Beads and small streamers for the trout. Flashy flies for the silvers

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK:

Kirk Fitzer guided at the lower base camp for 16 years in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Since retiring from guiding in 2007 he hadn’t been back. This week Kirk returned with is 16-year-old son to show him where all those fish stories had come from. It was refreshing to hear that Kirk thought the fishing was every bit as good as he remembered it. Needless to say, lots of stories and memories were shared.

COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK:

It’s officially that time of year again! Big chrome Silvers, as many Dollies as you want, and aggressive Rainbows sitting behind spawning Salmon. Combine that with and all-star crew of guests and some beautiful weather and that pretty much sums up our week. The Silver fishing is good and getting better every day. The trout fishing is stellar with the warm water temps. Some Trout are still on the banks but most have transitioned to behind the Chums and are happy to eat just about anything. The Dollies are stacked up on most bars from our camp to the lower river. The river is in great shape and we can’t wait to keep the ball rolling through the end of August.
