UPPER BASE CAMP FISHING REPORT

REPORTING FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 6 TO JULY 13

WATER TEMP AND CLARITY

 The Upper river is gin clear and the water temperature has been as high as 64 degrees  this week. 

WEATHER CONDITIONS

Another amazing week of warm and dry weather!! On Sunday and Monday we had temps as high as 95 degrees!We have been swimming in the river three or four times a day to stay cool.

 The mouse was still our go to fly for trout

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK

At 95 degrees I think we set a new record for the all time high temp. The conditions for trout fishing have been absolutely ideal and mousing has been great.

WILDLIFE SPOTTED

Lots of  birds along the river including Bald Eagles, Mallards, Pintail, Widgeon, Green wing Teal, Canadian Geese, Tundra Swans, Mergansers, Common Loons, Sandhill Cranes, Arctic Terns, Long tail Jaegers, Glaucous winged Gulls, Bald Eagles, Ruffed Legged Hawks, Kestrels, Harlequin ducks, Osprey, Peregrine falcons, Golden crowned Sparrows, Swallows, Common snipe, Greater yellow leg, Ptarmigan, Ravens, and Crows.
