UPPER BASE CAMP FISHING REPORT

REPORTING FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 26 TO JULY 3, 2021

WATER TEMP AND CLARITY
Water temps have been between 46 and 48 degrees. The river is clear and dropping.

WEATHER CONDITIONS
We had a cold wet week.

HOT FLY OF THE WEEK
The mouse is still working great and all of the normal wet flies.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK

High and cold water and the fishing was still fantastic!

WILDLIFE SPOTTED
We saw our first bear this week. Lots of birds along the river including Bald Eagles, Mallards, Pintail, Wigeon, Green wing Teal, Canadian Geese, Tundra Swans, Mergansers, Common Loons, Sandhill Cranes, Arctic Terns, Long tail Jaegers, Glaucous winged Gulls, Bald Eagles, Ruffed Legged Hawks, Kestrels, Harlequin ducks, Osprey, Peregrine falcons, Golden crowned Sparrows, Swallows, Common snipe, Greater yellow leg, Ptarmigan, Ravens, and Crows.

The river is high but very fishy and it is clear and dropping! Fishing is fantastic and it should only get better as the river drops and the salmon show up in larger numbers.
